Bobby Brown is opening up about how life has been since the death of his daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. In a preview of his upcoming ABC News “20/20” special with Robin Roberts, Bobby talks about the day he lost his child and the similarities between her death and the death of his ex-wife, Whitney Houston.

“The same thing that happened to my daughter, it happened to Whitney,” Bobby said, according to People magazine. At another point during the interview, he said: “The hardest thing I had to do in my life was to tell my daughter to let go.”

According to the Daily Mail Online, Bobby also discusses his troubled relationship with Houston. The outlet reported that during a preview of the special, Bobby recalled the first time he saw the “I Have Nothing” singer do drugs. “Cocaine?” Roberts asked. “Yes ma’am,” he responded. The New Edition singer later added, “I came into the marriage with money, and I left the marriage with nothing.”

Bobbi Kristina died at age 22 on July 26, 2015, nearly six months after she was found facedown in a bathtub at her Georgia home. Houston died in 2012 after being found unresponsive in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton hotel.

As previously reported, Bobbi Kristina’s former boyfriend, Nick Gordon, opened up about the day she was found unconscious in an interview with the Daily Mail in April. “I ran to my room and then saw my girl on the floor,” he said. “It was traumatizing. I dropped to my knees and kept giving her chest compressions and blowing into her mouth. I thought she was going to come around, but that never happened.”
